Six European countries are cooperating in the Transnational MedDiet Go project, which will run from January 2024 to March 2026. The aim of the project is to promote adherence to a healthy lifestyle based on the Mediterranean Diet, to promote the territories of the Mediterranean Diet as an international tourist destination and supporting the economic and sustainable development of Europe’s rural areas, strengthening the Med Diet Euro-Cluster network.
Partners from Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Greece, Slovenia and Portugal will join forces to provide knowledge and tools to areas seeking to boost sustainable tourism and the local economy.
MedDiet Go focuses on the Mediterranean Diet, recognized worldwide for its contribution to a healthy, sustainable lifestyle and as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. However, the scope of the project is broader, adopting a holistic approach in the promotion of the territory and sustainable tourism, with the mission of contributing to the economic development of rural areas and facing the challenges posed by global markets.
The participating entities are working to develop tools and resources that promote sustainable tourism; in supporting rural communities in their economic development; in the promotion of the territories involved in the project at an international level; and to promote the Mediterranean Diet as a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
This transnational cooperation is essential to share knowledge, experiences and best practices, ensuring that the benefits of the project reach a wide spectrum of rural communities in Europe.
Commitment to a Sustainable Future
MedDiet Go not only aspires to improve the well-being of people or the sustainability of the planet, but also to protect and enhance the cultural and natural heritage of the territories. The dissemination and promotion of the values preserved by the Mediterranean Diet and sustainable tourism are fundamental pillars to face the economic and social challenges of this century.
