On April 30, 2025, the team of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Vratsa organized a seminar titled “Cultural Heritage and Local Traditions in Tourism”, as part of the MedDiet Go! project, co-financed by the INTERREG Euro-MED Programme.
The event was held within the framework of the Co-creation Living Labs Bulgaria, a key component of the project aiming to bridge traditional knowledge with modern innovation. The seminar brought together local stakeholders to explore how cultural identity can be transformed into a driver for sustainable tourism development.
Participants received valuable insights into models and quality criteria for enhancing tourism services across various sectors, including Ho.Re.Ca., consumer behavior, the food and beverage industry, logistics and distribution, and policy-making.
The discussions focused on key challenges and opportunities for integrating cultural heritage and local traditions into modern tourism. The mission of the event was to revitalize and activate Vratsa’s rich cultural assets through the co-creation of innovative tourism products and services. By turning local culture, crafts, folklore, and cuisine into authentic visitor experiences, the initiative aims to stimulate the local economy while fostering community pride and a sense of belonging.
