Lesvos hosts the 6th Steering Committee of the European MedDiet Go project

11/07/2025

The Greek island of Lesvos was the setting for the sixth meeting of the Steering Committee of the European project MedDiet Go, a transnational initiative that aims to promote the Mediterranean Diet as a tool for sustainable territorial development and cohesion among Mediterranean regions.

The meeting, held last week as part of the Lesvos Food Festival, brought together representatives from the countries involved in the project. Over the course of the working sessions, participants reviewed the progress made and planned the key actions for the final stage of the project, which is now entering its last phase.

One of the highlights of the visit was participation in a Living Lab organized by ELORIS, focused on the region’s gastronomic itineraries. This activity allowed project partners to experience local food tourism initiatives firsthand and engage in meaningful exchanges with local stakeholders.

The MedDiet Go project seeks to promote the Mediterranean Diet not only as a healthy eating model, but also as a key driver of sustainability, cultural identity, and economic development in the participating regions.
